After a weekend full of games, the ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team is still unbeaten. The Tigers are now 7-0 after winning all three games in their home tournament.
On Friday night, the Tigers won 2-0 over Des Moines Hoover. Both goals came in the first half–one from Carol Maher when she struck home a penalty kick, and the other a touch goal from Sydney Bertman off a cross from Emily Hofmann.
Moving on to Saturday, the Tigers started with Council Bluffs St. Albert. Head coach Kelsey Dolder says it was a hard fought contest throughout, and the Tigers could summon just a single goal. Carol Maher placed a penalty kick in the back of the net in the second half after a handball in the box by St. Albert.
In their final game Saturday, the Tigers took on an overmatched Treynor squad and throttled them 6-0. Two of those goals came from Carol Maher, who is putting together an impressive scoring season. She now has 10 goals on the year and has scored at least once in all but one game so far.
Coach Dolder’s bunch will play in just one game this week, that being at home against Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday.
