The Bock Family Foundation recently awarded more than $97,000 in grants to nonprofits organizations in Dallas County.

A total of 41 different projects benefited from the foundation’s spring granting period.

The grants range from $8,000 to Perry PACES for their summer program to $458 to the DeSoto Public Library for assistance in purchasing early literacy story time kits.

The Bock Family Foundation supports non-profit organizations, and units of state and local government, that operate for religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes.

Woodward United Methodist Church – $1,000 to purchase new furnace for fireside room

Home Care Services Inc. of Dallas County – $6,000 to provide care services for individuals who need financial assistance

Trinity Lutheran Church, Perry – $3,000 to place wheelchair accessible swing sets at Pattee Park

City of DeSoto, Police Department – $1,000 to purchase and install a digital scanner

Washington Township School Foundation – $2,500 to replace heating and cooling system

Noah’s Ark Preschool – $1,000 to purchase 2 iPads and toys for outdoor play

Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church – $2,000 to assist with expenses for hosting Community Vacation Bible School

City of DeSoto, Fire Department – $3,000 to assist with purchase of Brushwacker Skid Unit

Perry Fine Arts Series – $850 to assist with performances by Canternus choir

1st Christian Church, Clothes Closet – $2,000 to purchase towels, bedding and clothing for children and adults

Perry Ministerial Association – $4,500 to provide assistance to persons who have need due to emergencies

City of Perry, Carnegie Library Association – $1,000 to assist with purchase of outdoor sign and programs throughout the year

Minburn Community Betterment Group – $800 to assist with 2014 Meet Me in Minburn concert series

Dallas County Conservation Board – $6,500 to assist with purchase and installation of heading and A/C in Seth Dayton Stagecoach Inn

Pegasus Inc – $500 to purchase two television sets

Iowa State University Extension, Dallas County – $1,755 for Community Voices leadership training for native Spanish speakers in Dallas County

Perry Elementary Parents – $1,000 to assist with costs of field trips for elementary school students

St. Patrick School – $1,500 to purchase laptop computers for instructional use

City of Dawson – $1,000 to restore miner’s shack building

City of Woodward – $2,298 to purchase automated external defibrillators

Perry Elementary School – $2,000 to construct a Pergola structure at Outdoor Nature Area

Art on the Prairie – $3,000.00 to assist with design and installation of collaborative mural/community art project

Nudgers, Inc. – $1,000.00 to fund tuition assistance grants for local businesses wishing to participate in Perry Business Design Lab

City of Perry- Fire Department – $2,500.00 for EMR classes. protective gear and training aids for CPR & Basic Life support functions

Perry Public Library – $1,500.00 to assists with digitization of microfiche copies of Perry’s newspapers

Perry Elementary School, Music Department – $2,000 to purchase bass and also xylophones

Perry Child Development Center – $6,000.00 to provide scholarships for pre-school/child care and school age children

Dallas County Public Health Nursing Services – $1,500.00 to assist with implementation of IPOST project in Dallas Count

Fullhart Carnegie Charitable Trust – $2,000 to purchase digitization equipment for research workstation

1st United Methodist Church – $7,500 to replace lighting system in Sanctuary

Perry Cub Scouts, Pack 127 – $800 to purchase 2 man tents and air mattresses

Boy Scouts Troop 127 – $500 to assist with camp fees

Minburn Area Fire Fighters Association – $3,950.00 to purchase Personal Protective Equipment for department members

PACES • Perry Community School- $8,000 to assist wrth Summer 2014 Program

Perry Volunteer Fire and Police Departments – $3,000 to furnish and equipment new training classroom

 

Rowley Masonic  Community – $3,500 to assist with purchase of bladder scan unit

Perry Child Development Center – $1,000 to assist with maintenance schedule for floors and carpet
