ADM junior sprinter Kari Dufoe had a busy and very successful Friday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines. Dufoe finished in third place in the girls’ 100 meter dash in 12.37 seconds. She was the top Class 3A finisher with only Class 4A athletes finishing ahead of her. Dufoe also anchored the Tigers to a 12th place finish in the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1:45.63 with Haley Schepers, Torrie Hook, and Regan Engleman. ADM was 22nd in the sprint medley relay in 1:53.10 with Madi Bertman, Schepers, Brianna Mueller, and Hook. The Tigers placed 37th in the 4 x 100 prelims in :51.44 with Madi Bertman, Schepers, Sydney Bertman, and Dufoe. Mueller was 15th in the 800 meter run in 2:21.28, and Madi Bertman finished 22nd in the girls’ long jump at 14′ `10″.
Junior Shelby Lane of Panorama (Panora) was fourteenth in the girls’ discus throw with a best toss of 116′ 8″. Panorama’s boys were 47th in the 4 x 100 meter relay preliminaries in 44:64 seconds with Matthew Webner, Chase Hennen, Josiah Moulds, and Luke Webner.
Today is the last day of the Drake Relays with more Raccoon Valley Radio area athletes competing. Action begins at 8 a.m.
