ADM6The ADM boys golf team has competed in nothing but 9-hole dual meets and invitationals to this point in the season, but that will change tomorrow.

Head coach Cris Goodale’s team heads to Perry for 18-hole tournament at Perry Golf and Country Club, and he explains how he’ll ask his guys to alter their mindsets just slightly for the tournament format.

“The biggest thing I tell them is, ‘you’ve got 18 holes, one hole can’t kill you.  If you didn’t play the front nine great, you can still come back and play the next nine superb, so don’t let things snowball on you.  Try to eliminate the huge mistakes and don’t let them carryover’.”

Coach Goodale says the Perry tournament is one he looks forward to taking his boys to each season because of the course set-up.

“It’s got some character to it; it is a nice little, small course but it still has some character.  It isn’t like River Valley or Bos Landen or any of those, where you’ve got just a huge monster in front of you.  If they play smart, they can play at par and play well on the course.”

ADM boys’ golfers tee-off at 8:30 tomorrow morning, weather permitting.

The other teams competing are Carlisle, Gilbert, Grandview Park Baptist, Greene County, Woodward-Granger, Pella Christian and host Perry.
