The Carnegie Library Museum invites everyone to stop by and enjoy a series of special programs early next month.
The afternoon of Saturday, May 3rd is full of events. It kicks off at 2:30pm with a dramatic monologue workshop by Iowa’s Poet Laureate Mary Swander that’s recommended for high school students and adults.
At 4pm, they will present Vang: A Drama about Recent Immigrant Farmers from Swander, Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Dennis Chamberlin and Kennedy Center ACT award winner Matt Foss. Following the presentation, Swander will lead a talk-back discussion with the audience.
Then at 5:15, attendees are welcome to light refreshments and music before enjoying Farmscape, a drama about the challenges of making a living in the changing rural environment.
All events are free and open to the public.
