perry libraryThe Perry Public Library will be closing for a week later this month as they make improvements to the building.

It’s the final phase of the library revitalization project renovations.  Library Director Mary Murphy says it’s something they have been working on for years and now it’s time for the heavy lifting.

“We’re going to be putting in lines in the middle of the library for new data lines and new electricity lines, to move the public access computers in the middle of the library” says Murphy.

Murphy says the goal is to continue providing the best possible service to local patrons.

“We’re always doing something innovative at the library.  We like to do that, we like to be on the cusp of technology and programming.”

Due to the use of jack-hammers and moving of heavy shelving and fixtures the library will lock their doors between April 27th and May 4th.

The library meeting rooms will also be closed during this time and anyone who has items checked out will have an extra grace period for returning them.

The library will open back up to the public on Monday, May 5th.

Anyone with questions can call the library at 465-3569.
