The Greene County girls and Carroll boys won team titles under cold and breezy conditions Tuesday night at the Carroll Coed Invitational track and field meet. The meet ended with the thermometer at 37 degrees and a wind chill in the upper 20’s. The meet was originally scheduled for Monday, but was moved back a day because of snow and even colder temperatures.
Greene County won the girls’ division with 154.5 points. Carroll had 135 with MVAO (Maple Valley) at 92, Audubon 90, Woodward-Granger 56, IKM-Manning 52.5, and nine points for Perry.
Carroll won the boys’ division with 119 points. IKM-Manning had 96 with Greene County at 95, Perry 70.5, W-G 57, MVAO 42, Audubon 35.5, and Glidden-Ralston 13.
First place events for the Greene County girls were:
1,500 meter run- Allison Higgins 5:33.20; 3,000 m run- Higgins 11:59.90; 4 x 200 m relay, 1:57.91 (Emma Saddoris, Olivia Hansen, Nadia Fisher, Emily Christensen); 4 x 400 m relay, 4:27.09 (Hansen, Saddoris, Christensen, Eme Johnson); 4 x 800 m relay, 10:54.64 (Hansen, Noelle Gray, Jolee Wessling, Christensen); shuttle hurdle relay, 1:10.10 (Johnson, Sarah Sandage, Fisher, Kate Sandage); high jump, Fisher, 5′ 1″; long jump- Saddoris, 15′ 2-1/2″.
First place events for the Greene County boys were:
100 meter dash- Roman Phillips :11.83; 200 m dash- Phillips :23.47.
First place events for the Perry boys:
Long jump- Will Whiton 20′ 4″; 400 m dash- Whiton :53.23; 800 m run- Keegan Pfau 2:10.79; 3,200 m run- Pfau 10:49.29.
There were no first place performances by Perry girls.
