Make it three wins in a row for the ADM boys soccer team, which narrowly edged Boone 1-0 at home on Monday night.
According to the scoring summary from head coach Bill Shields, the Tigers controlled possession of the ball for most of the match and created several good goal-scoring opportunities, but ultimately they had to settle for the close victory.
ADM scored its lone goal just 11 minutes into the contest, thanks to the deft footwork of Noah Bardwell. Bardwell took a short pass from Robby Sloss, then wiggled past three defenders before cutting a pass back to onrushing forward Jake Hutzell. The Tigers leading goal-scorer then placed the pass into the back of the net before Boone goalkeeper Philip Commins could even move an inch.
While a win is a win, Shields says his Tigers should have put the game away long before the final whistle given their superior possession. But hey, ADM is now 3-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Raccoon River Conference.
The Tigers will next play at Knoxville tomorrow. JV will play at 5:30 while varsity is scheduled to begin at 7 o’clock.
