Crafts, activities, animals, face painting and information… those are just some of the things you’ll find at this inaugural Dallas County Toddler Fest this weekend.

Hosted by the Dallas County libraries and the 4 R Kids organization, the event is designed for kids 2-5 years old and their guardians.

The goal is to create awareness of the many different literacy resources available in our local communities.

The Blank Park Zoo and Science Center of Iowa will be bringing activities and organizations like the Dallas County Hospital and ISU Extension will have information available.

Each toddler will go home with a free book and a box of crayons.

The event takes place Saturday from 10am until noon at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel.
