imagesThe ADM girls track team is in the midst of one of the more hectic stretches of its 2014 season, so for head coach Bart Mueller, that gives him the chance to continue ingraining his philosophy into his team.

He explains…

“We always strive to get better.  I try to tell the girls that… ‘don’t settle’.  Really your goal each day is to improve so that’s what we’re looking at.”

Mueller cites Tuesday’s home meet in Adel as the perfect means to improve.  The Tigers won the meet easily as a team, but left bunches of points on the table.

“Especially early season in a meet, we find out, ‘okay this hand-off we’ve got to work on, or the technique in our field events, or the hurdles’.  So that motivates the girls.  They’re excited to win but they also realize, ‘hey, we can even get better, we can continue to improve, we can even run faster’.”

Coach Mueller says his team’s commitment to improvement is starting to pay off, as he feels times are getting faster, and he expects them to get even faster in the days ahead as conditions improve.

The ADM girls track team is in action tonight at Ballard and then gets a week off to work on improving their times even more.
