All area families are invited to join the Dallas County Conservation Board at the Voas Nature Area this weekend for a non-traditional Easter egg hunt.
Instead of picking up plastic eggs full of chocolates and other goodies, participants in this program will be looking for natural eggs.
“We’ll be looking in bird boxes, under leaf piles, in rotting logs, wetlands and dark corners in which wild animals, not the Easter Bunny, produce. This is not going out looking for plastic Easter eggs. Learn more about when and why animals lay eggs and how they develop as we explore the prairies, woodlands and wetlands” says museum curator Pete Malmberg.
The event takes place Saturday from 1-2:30pm and all attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather by being prepared to get damp and dirty.
Registration for the free program is required. To reserve your spot call 465-3577.
