The Dallas County Conservation Board is still looking for a few more participants for tomorrow’s fruit tree grafting workshop.
Museum Curator Pete Malmberg says he’s looking forward to this hands on class taught by a local expert.
“The workshop is presented by Dr. Patrick O’Malley. He is the commercial horticulture field specialist with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. He’s very experienced, a good speaker and he’ll walk you through everything. He’ll begin with a presentation on live fruit tree grafting and a demonstration. Each participant will then choose two apple root stocks to self graft and take home with them” says Malmberg.
The event takes place at the Forest Park Museum starting at 6:30pm tomorrow. The cost is $35 per person or $60 for a couple to cover all needed materials.
