Greene County RamsToday, Greene County voters will head to the polls for a special election for the Greene County School District.

The special measure is asking eligible voters to decided whether or not the district should adopt a revenue purpose statement to authorize the expenditure of the revenues from the State of Iowa Secure and Advanced Vision for Education fund.

For Jefferson the precinct, which includes the City of Jefferson plus, Bristol, Dawson, Franklin, Grant, Greenbrier, Hardin, Jackson and a portion of Section 12 of Willow Townships are to vote in the South Assembly Room of the Greene County Courthouse in downtown Jefferson.

Those voting from the Scranton Precinct which includes the City of Scranton along with Scranton Township and parts of Kendrick, Jackson and WIllow townships are to report to the Scranton City Hall.

Finally, anyone from the Grand Junction Precinct consisting of voters from the cities of Grand Junction, Dana and Rippey and also includes Dawson, North and South Junction, Paton, Grant, Washington and Franklin townships and Sections 6 and 7 or Amaqua Township and Sections 5-8 of Union Township in Boone County will go to St. Brigid Parish Center in Grand Junction.

Polls will be open from noon-8pm today.
