Cooler temperatures are expected to move into the area for tomorrow and perhaps stay for a while. That’s not the news the Greene County High School golfers were hoping for. The girls’ golf team is coached by Keith Vander Wilt and Dave Destival is the head coach of the boys and he’s assisted by Charles Brobst. There are 22 boys out for golf, but just five girls.
The girls’ will play their home matches at The Hill west of Grand Junction while the boys will have some home meets in Jefferson at the Jefferson Community Golf Course and some home meets northwest of Grand Junction at Lakeside Golf Course.
The Rams haven’t had much practice time on the courses due to the weather, but the coaches and players are hoping to get on the courses today, and perhaps some other days this week. Monday, April 7 is when the Greene County teams are scheduled to open the season. Carroll High is the opponent with the girls’ match in Carroll and the boys playing at the Jefferson Community Golf Course.
