Friday, March 28th
A deputy transported a small white dog that was muzzled when found from the 300 block of 3rd Street in Rippey to the animal shelter in Jefferson.
A deputy was out of position and unable to locate a reported careless and erratic driver westbound on Highway 30 near the Carroll-Greene County line. A Carroll County deputy was able to stop and evaluate the driver.
A deputy checked the report of trespassing on a farm building site in the 900 block of 190th Street. The owner and deputy could not find anything out of order.
A deputy checked the report of cattle on the roadway in the 800 block of I Avenue. The cattle were driven off the road and into an open field by the deputy.
Saturday, March 29th
A deputy was advised by a towing service of a one vehicle accident that occurred on 215th Street near Imperial Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday the 28th. A Red 1976 pickup truck being driven by Craigg Michael Smith 37 of Jefferson reported that he drove off the roadway while attempting to retrieve an item from the floor of the truck. The truck sustained an estimated $2000 in damages.
A deputy was asked by the track manager of the Union Pacific Railroad to check on a vehicle that was parked near the railroad tracks in Grand Junction. The vehicle was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.
The Paton Fire Department and a deputy were dispatched to a grass fire that was reported on 140th Street near Orchard Avenue. The Paton Fire units extinguished the fire without incident.
A deputy and the Grand Junction Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the 2000 block of 195th Street to transport a female needing assistance to the Dallas County Hospital.
Sunday, March 30th
A deputy was advised of a large round bale of hay obstructing the roadway on I Avenue south of 180th Street. The bale was subsequently removed from the roadway.
A deputy was not able to locate a reported dog running at large near Grand Junction.
Dispatchers at the Greene County Law Enforcement Center were able to trace an abandoned E-911 to a residence in Grand Junction. The caller reported that he had misdialed the E- 911 number while attempting to call another number.
A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of North Wise Street in Paton for the report of a suspicious male subject in a farm field. The deputy found a thirteen year old youth from Paton out walking in the field.
A deputy and the Scranton Fire Department were dispatched to a grass fire near Eaton Avenue and 195th Street.
A deputy was asked to check on several reported wild animals living in an abandoned house in the 400 block of 18th Street in Grand Junction. The animals appear to be woodchucks or badgers.
A deputy helped mediate a civil issue pertaining to personal property in the 800 block of Stanton Street in Scranton.
A deputy assisted the Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel with the removal of a male patient in the 700 block of Irving Street in Scranton that was transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
