State Representative Chip Baltimore recently announced that he will be seeking re-election for Iowa House District 47 in this year’s upcoming election.
Baltimore is currently serving his second-term as a representative, which covers Greene and Boone counties.
An Oskaloosa native, Baltimore received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iowa State University and his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. From there, he joined a private practice in Boone. Baltimore left private practice in 2006 and started working as a trust officer and as vice-president of Boone Bank and Trust in Boone, Iowa.
He currently serves on the commerce, economic growth and ways and means committees at the Statehouse in Des Moines. He is also the chair of the judiciary committee. He is also on the justice systems appropriations subcommittee, medical malpractice study subcommittee, criminal and juvenile justice planning advisory council and the public safety advisory board in the Iowa House.
Since being elected to the Iowa House of Representatives, Baltimore has sponsored 20 bills and 20 amendments.
The Republican’s second term will end on January 11, 2015.
