population1Dallas County’s population continues to soar, more so than any other county in Iowa. In fact, Dallas County is the 17th fasted growing county in the nation.

According to the latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, Dallas County’s population has increased by nearly 13 percent since the 2010 census.  That’s an addition of more than 8,500 residents for a total population of 74,641.

This comes at a time when the majority of counties in Iowa are seeing a decrease in population.  New estimates show that 70 of Iowa’s 99 counties have lost residents since 2010.

Right now Dallas County is the 10th most populated county in Iowa, with Polk County having the most residents at 451,677 and Adams County having the fewest residents at 3,894.
