The Greene County High School FFA Chapter recently received a few honors.
Advisor Cortney Schmidt says at this district convention earlier this month, in which eight students competed, one has advanced to the state FFA convention in Ames next month.
Sophomore Wade Wuebker received a Gold Award in Agricultural Broadcasting. Schmidt states that Wuebker was given 30 minutes and a packet of 15 pages of material ranging from local news, agricultural markets, a weather report and a pre-written commercial to put together a five minute live presentation in front of a judge that could be used during a farm report on a radio station.
He will compete at Hilton Coliseum in Ames from April 27th-29th with times to be determined.
She is also excited to announce that five students have been chosen for state FFA Band and Choir recognitions. Molly Hoskins, Noelle Gray and Shannon Brown made it for choir while Laota Larson and Kirsten St. Clair qualified for band.
