Open auditions will be held this week for History Boy Theatre Company’s summer musical, “Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge”.
Co-owner Angie Pederson says this year’s musical is set in the 1930’s Appalachia. It’s about a young fugitive who is looking for a way to stay out of jail for killing his father and grows as person staying at a moonshiner’s cabin. She points out that this is a fun, relaxing bluegrass tale for the audience to enjoy.
Open auditions will be this Saturday, March 22nd at 7pm at History Boy Theatre in Jefferson. Pederson suggests that anyone wishing to try-out needs to be prepared to move around and sing 60-seconds of a prepared song.
She notes that there will be an optional pre-audition for those who want to see what the choreography and vocal material will be like in the show. That will be at 7pm tonight also at History Boy Theatre.
