The Greene County High School Power lifting team placed first at the March 15 Natural Strength Association Power Lifting meet in Des Moines. The team was sponsored by Power Lift, the Jefferson Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

High school principal Brian Phillips is the coach. Team members were: Isaac Perez, Wyatt Taggart, Nic Walsh, Roman Phillips, Dylan Lansman, Jacob Monthei, Dalton Weber, and Mark Kendall. The group broke nine school records during the course of the day and Roman Phillips received the Power Award for a strict bar curl of 143 lbs. at a body weight of 165 lbs.
