Training classes for the Greene County 4-H Dog Project will be starting later this year.
Greene County ISU Extension Youth and Families Coordinator Sarah Jo Reynolds says through their fundraisers, they were able purchase new agility equipment and pay for county fair awards for this year’s upcoming county fair.
She points out that they bought a new competition tunnel that will be used during the county fair competitions and practices during the training classes. They also donated extra money and dog treats to the Greene County Animal Shelter.
Reynolds notes any 4-H’er wishing to participate in this year’s dog contests, are encouraged to attend a Dog Project meeting slated for Sunday, April 13th at 3pm at the extension office in Jefferson with training sessions to begin in May.
Adult superintendent Melisse Schilling, along with youth superintendents Noelle Gray and Ashley Kuhl will be leading the program.
