The Guthrie County Extension & Outreach office has announced there will be no swine weigh-in this year for those interested in showing at the county fair due to concerns over the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, better known as PEDV.

Those who want to participate in the production class at the Guthrie County Fair will be responsible for tagging their own pigs.  To enter in the production class, area youth need to sign up with Extension Office Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark.  Clark says someone from Extension will be out on area farms on April 26th to verify pig weights for the fair.

If area youth don’t have a scale to weigh pigs, the Extension Office can provide one during the farm visit date in April.
