Any third through fifth grade youth who are fans of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” book series are invited to a free party next week at the Jefferson Public Library Children’s Department.

Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says participants can enjoy various games like a clothes relay race and a cereal toss.  She is very excited for this kind of an event and adds that her department felt it would be a great way to incorporate a popular series among young people right now.

“It’s fun to take off on some of the books and let the kids kind of re-enact the stories from the books and do some of the fun things that are involved in the books themselves.  And so the children’s department gets together and we just talk about it and decide which books we would like to go with.”

Clark points out that space is limited to the first 24 students that sign up.  You must register by Saturday, March 15th.
