12 students will represent Greene County High School later this month at the state individual speech contest sponsored by the Iowa High School Speech Association.
Co-coach Glenna Strong says at last week’s district competition, they took 17 students and 29 entries and 12 students with 13 entries qualified for state.
The program is showing improvement with nine students qualifying last year for the state individual events contest.
One student is going to compete in two events with Aly Matthews in literary program and acting. She will be joined by 11 other students on Saturday, March 15th at Glenwood High School to try and qualify for the all-state festival on the University of Northern Iowa’s campus.
