As we’ve mentioned, the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce is coming up with a variety of ways to get more community members involved.
One thing that is in the works is the restart and expansion of the Perry Cultural District. Executive Director Bob Wilson says the goal is to open this group up and not limit it to just business owners.
“What we’re going to try to do is pull it together. We used to have what we called Perry Area Merchants, we don’t want to just isolate that to merchants, we want more of the cultural experience. The Carnegie Libraries, the Hispanics United for Perry, all these civic organizations as well as retail and the business sector there too so we want as many people involved and we want that to be kind of the brainstorming committee for how we can keep Perry and the cultural district moving forward.
As always, anyone wanting to get involved or share ideas for how to grow and improve Perry is encouraged to stop by the chamber or call 465-4601.
