fcclaWest Central Valley’s FCCLA chapter began a new outreach project this week and it will continue until next Friday.

FCCLA advisor Eileen Wilson says “Soles 4 Souls” is a statewide project being conducted by the organization this year, and area residents are encouraged to donate pairs of shoes that will then be given to children and adults in need all over the world.

Wilson explains what she wants her students to take away from this on-going outreach effort.

“It’s a good experience for them to realize the importance of giving to others without expecting something in return, except for the personal satisfaction that they know they’re helping other people.  We’re so lucky, we’re so rich, and there are so many people are the world that just simply need a pair of shoes so I hope that is the message–that it is good to give without expecting something in return.”

The “Soles 4 Souls” shoe drive ends March 7th.  Shoes can be dropped off at West Central Valley High School if any area residents would like to contribute.
