jefferson welcomeAccording to the National Weather Service, Jefferson’s temperatures are predicted to be in the single-digits until the middle of next week and so residents are reminded about some preventative tactics to help keep your water pipes from freezing.

Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer recommends that residents leave their faucets on a steady drip, especially at night when the outside temperatures fall below zero degrees.

He adds that in the past few days, several households have reported frozen pipes.  He states that if you are concerned about the temperature of your water, test it with a thermometer and if the temperature is below 40 degrees, then a certified plumber may need to be contacted.

Palmer points out that the City is not responsible to any household service lines freezing.
