greene co high schoolThere are more events coming up for the Greene County High School National Honor Society fundraisers for Relay for Life.

Advisor Ruth Broman says ten students will be leading the public in singing songs at Christ Lutheran Church in Jefferson as part of the “Holden Evening Prayer.  She adds that the 45-minute service also includes readings in between songs.  The students perform at 6:30pm for five Wednesdays starting March 12th with the final performance to be on April 16th.  Broman points out that last year, this group raised over $900 for Relay for Life.

Another group of ten students are hosting a Ram Restaurant take-out day on Wednesday, April 9th.  The menu includes glazed ham balls, cheesy potatoes, savory peas, wheat rolls and sour cream raisin pie for a cost of $6 with all meals to be delivered by the students.  Broman comments that this is a new event for them this year and that it’s a delivery-only event for one day so those who want to sign up can call the high school at 386-2188.

Other students will be selling washable cheek tattoos to elementary students.  On Friday, April 25th, ten students will be at the East Greene and Jefferson-Scranton elementary schools to sell Relay for Life themed tattoos to students.  Broman notes that elementary parents will be given a permission slip to sign and attach a dollar for the tattoo.

The final event is a dance for sixth through eighth grade students at the Webb House in Jefferson from 8-10pm with a date to be determined.  Admission fee is $3.

Broman says all proceeds from the fundraisers will go to the Greene County Relay for Life.
