Much like last year, Seven Hills Park’s sledding hill in Greene County hasn’t been used very much.

In fact, county conservation director Dan Towers says they require at least four-inches of snow to open the sledding hill to the public, but because the county hasn’t seen that much snowfall at one time, it sits unused.

He talks about comparing the lack of using the sledding hill with last year’s numbers.

“Last year, there wasn’t a whole lot of snowfall either.  We ran it maybe two or three weekends last year.  So it’s again, when you’re dependent upon the weather, it’s just pretty hard to predict anything.”

He adds that sometimes, they open it up for people to use when there’s been marginal snowfall and let them walk back up the hill without having to use the rope return, but conditions haven’t been suitable to even allow that.

And it doesn’t look like there’s much snow in the forecast coming up this weekend for the area with about 1-2 inches of snow according to the National Weather Service.
