A deputy was advised that a semi-tractor trailer had damaged the Union Pacific Railroad gate crossing on Highway 144 or U Avenue, just south of Paton. The semi was never located and the UP Railroad was advised of the minor damage.

The Greene County Secondary Roads asked a deputy to check a vehicle that is partially parked on the roadway on E-18 west of Paton near T Avenue. The vehicle was towed for traffic safety reasons.

A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction to try and find a reported dog running at large.

A deputy was advised of a reported possible intoxicated driver that had left Jefferson and was heading west on 220th Street. Carroll County was advised of the driver as the deputy was on another call at the time and was out of position.

A deputy is investigating a report of a driver deliberately swerving towards another oncoming vehicle on 220th Street near H Avenue.

A deputy was dispatched to the 900 block of Main Street in Scranton to check on the welfare of a dog that had been reported to be tethered outside all day. The deputy instructed the dog owner not to leave the dog outside for extended periods of time during this cold weather.

A deputy was asked to check a vehicle that had been parked at the Star Energy bulk plant south of Jefferson for an extended time with its headlights on. The deputy was unable to respond immediately, so a Jefferson Police Officer assisted in checking the vehicle. The officer determined that the vehicle was unoccupied and the headlights had been left on. He checked the area and turned off the headlights.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
