With about 230 fathers and daughters were at the Greene County Community Center last weekend for the annual Daddy/Daughter Dance and now it’s the mothers and sons turn to take center stage.
Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner talks about why they wanted to host a new event that highlights mothers and sons.
“Well, we feel that if the girls have a chance to be out with their dads, then the moms and sons need have a night out too. So we’ve been talking about this for a while and this year we decided to go a head and try one.”
However, Lautner points out that it will not be a dance, instead, mothers and join their sons at the rec center in Jefferson for pizza, bingo and other games with prizes awarded during the first ever event on Friday, March 14th from 6-8:30pm.
There is an admission fee of $20 per couple with a $5 charge for each additional boy that a mother brings that evening. To sign up, stop by or call the rec center at 386-3412.
