The Hotel Pattee is hosting another Fireside Music event for all to enjoy this evening.

Owner Jay Hartz says this is something they decided to do early in their time here in Perry as an amenity not only to guests but all local residents.

“It’s an investment, and one of the things I learned a long time ago is that if you’re not consistent with offerings, i.e. entertainment that you tend to lose confidence in your customer.  So we have committed to have live music every Friday and Saturday night from 7-10pm whether 10 people show up or 30 people show up” says Hartz.

Hartz says to him it’s not just about making money, it’s about being part of the community.

“And there’s some weekends where it’s worth our while if you will financially and others we don’t quite make out but I think in the long run it’s the right thing to do.  This hotel is the heartbeat of the region and the community and it deserves to have entertainment.”

This week’s entertainment will be provided by Health Alan and Justin Appel.

Heath is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Des Moines while Justin is nationally recognized pianist and bassist.

The casual concert takes place in the hotel lobby from 7-10pm.
