Two deputies, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and the Rippey Fire Department were all dispatched to one vehicle rollover accident that occurred on 310th Street at U Avenue.  A 2005 Dodge Stratus that was being driven by April Janeen Hopkins, 34 of 2398 U Avenue was northbound on U Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle due to ice patches on the roadway. The vehicle slid into the ditch and came to rest on the driver’s side. April Hopkins and two young children in the vehicle were not injured but were evaluated by the responding EMS unit from Grand Junction. The first deputy arriving at the scene had to break out the back window of the vehicle for the three of them to exit. Damage to the Hopkins vehicle was estimated to be $8000.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
