The Greene County Medical Center Foundation’s “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign began with a $2 million anonymous gift.
Foundation Director Hollie Roberts has been working to establish the $4 million capital campaign since the medical center announced the $22.5 million building expansion project. This gift now puts them past the 50% mark before the groundbreaking event that’s scheduled in April.
A steering committee was created in December to collect five-year pledges from the staff, Board of Trustee members and Foundation members. Community Relations Director Carla Offenburger says they received $102,000 from staff members with 65% participation and $54,000 with 100% participation from the Board of Trustees.
She points out that the next step will be for the campaign to being its community phase to ask for five-year pledges from community members who want to support the project beginning in April.
