Several hundred football coaches and strength and conditioning coaches will be converging on Jefferson this weekend for the annual coaches clinic. The Friday night sessions (Feb. 28) will be held at Power Lift along east Highway 30, with Saturday sessions at Greene County High School on the south edge of Jefferson along Highway 4.

Among the Friday night speakers are former Navy Seal Rob Stock, who was injured while serving our country overseas. He now operates a business in Virginia Beach, Virginia, called Human Performance Initiative. Also scheduled to speak at Power Lift are three strength and conditioning coaches. That list includes Chris Carlisle from the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks, Rock Gullickson of the St. Louis Rams, and Jim Kramer from FCS three-time defending champion North Dakota State.

University of Northern Iowa head football coach Mark Farley and Iowa State University’s new assistant coach Mark Mangino will keynote the day. U. of Iowa offensive line coach Brian Ferntz, Greene County’s own Bryce Paup, now an assistant coach at UNI, and many other collegiate and high school coaches will be speaking.

Greene County head football coach Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio the public is welcome to peek in on the activities.
