wrestlingADM’s Zach Johnston was the highest finisher during the state wrestling tournament for the Tigers last weekend, but the squad also had Trevor Harsh (132) and Nathan Heath (Heavyweight) end their seasons as place winners too.

Always exuding confidence when it comes to his wrestlers, ADM head coach Justin Schmauss reflects on the seventh place finish from Harsh and the eighth place finish from Heath.

“Trevor, he had another good tournament.  He ran into a tough match in the quarterfinals–lost 2-1 and that’s another (match) we wish we could get back.  He just wrestled really well, and I know he wants to be higher up on the podium and next year he will be for sure… And then Nathan Heath, he just had another great year.  The talk from the tournament of the heavyweights when they’re weighing in and stuff is, and he hears them whispering, ‘that’s that sophomore from Adel, he’s the only sophomore in the tournament’.  And that’s good for him, good for his confidence going forward to know, he’s the youngest big man there and in a couple years he’s going to be the one running the show.”

Harsh and Heath both finished their 2013-14 campaigns with 33 match victories, tied for second on the ADM team behind the state runner-up Johnston.
