We reported earlier this week on some of the challenges the Lake Panorama Association and its members are currently dealing with as a result of this year’s harsh winter, and a couple of those challenges have been battling troubles relating to with frozen water lines and frozen septic systems.
Although it may be difficult to prevent such freezing from happening with temperatures expected to dip again in the days ahead, the LPA is asking for member participation that might help them lessen the chances of such freezing issues for residents.
First off, the LPA asks that members run the water in their homes for about five minutes to pull water in from outside the homes, and then check the water temperature. Once a temperature is registered, call the LPA Office so that they can better monitor water main issues. Also, the LPA says members who experience low water pressure while performing temperature checks should report the issue to their office.
Next, if a members’ home is on a septic tank with lateral lines, do not run water continuously in your drains. This could cause lateral fields or even septic tanks to freeze up in some situations.
