ADMOne of the core players that will return to the ADM girls basketball team next season is Brianna Mueller.

Coach Brett Watson Watson says he was really impressed with how well Brianna finished the season, and he’s hoping she can carry that momentum into next year.

“What happened was is she started feeling more confident in her outside shot so she made a few more of those… let alone just attempted a some more.  It came down to she (gained) a lot of confidence, and so things became second-nature to her where she didn’t worry about anything and played her game.”

Brianna was a second-team all-conference performer a season ago, and Coach Watson says he expects her to receive that same honor if not even better for her efforts this season.

So what does she have to do now to take that next step?

“It’s all about the outside shot for her.  She’s definitely got the driving game down, and defensively–she’s been our number one defender for the last two years.  So (the next step) comes from her developing that outside shot because again, we saw a lot of zone and we’ll probably see some more zone next year.  That’s been the scouting report on her because it is very tough for teams to keep her in front, so she’s going to have to be more confident in that outside shot, shoot it a few more times and obviously make it a few more times also.”

The sophomore guard, who averaged 10.3 points per game this year, became the first Tiger to average double-digits in scoring over the course of an entire season under Coach Watson, who just completed his fourth year at the helm of the program.
