The Stuart Fire & Rescue Departments responded to a bus crash shortly after 12:30 this afternoon on Interstate 80 that sent three individuals to Metro hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The names of the individuals’ injured in the crash are not being released at this time.
Stuart Rescue Director of Operations Jeff Howard tells Raccoon Valley Radio the accident occurred near the 86 mile marker on I-80 eastbound, when the driver of a “Megabus” lost control of the vehicle and veered into the south ditch.
Howard says he is unsure of the bus’ total damage, but it appears the majority of the crash impact was sustained on the front and passenger sides of the vehicle.
Menlo Fire & Rescue and the Iowa State Patrol were also dispatched to the scene.
Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
