Mother Nature hasn’t cooperated well enough yet this season but this week’s snow could be just what’s needed for the on-call Quinzee Building program.
It’s an event put together by the Dallas County Conservation Board, and museum curator Pete Malmberg says it has attracted many people so far, who are just waiting for the right type of snow to fall.
Quinzees are a mix between an igloo and a snow cave, and Malmberg says given the right conditions, they’re actually really fun to build.
Once conditions are ideal for the program, conservation staff will call participants and give them a day’s notice. If you’d like to be added to the list, call the Forest Park Museum at 465-3577.
