An industrial technology teacher in Perry has been selected for a Friend of the School award from the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Bill Ridihalgh is the district’s 2014 recipient. He works with students in both the middle and high schools, sharing his woodworking talents and serving as a mentor for many.
Fellow teacher Darin Steva says “Bill has a knack for picking out students that need a little guidance or help. He helps them to build the confidence and pride in themselves to try harder as well as understand what it takes to do things to the best of their abilities.”
The Friend of the School program honors individuals who are supporters of school activities and delights in working on behalf of students.
Ridihalgh was honored during halftime of a Perry Bluejays basketball game last week.
