Guthrie Center’s Springbrook Conservation Education Center has a workshop coming up at the end of next month that is geared toward helping to get our local youth active and engaged with the outdoors.
“Reconnecting Children with Nature: Growing Up Wild,” is a workshop being held on Saturday, March 29th from 9am to 2pm, for early childhood professionals working with kids ages 3-7 to help them build their own naturalist side and develop their child’s sense of wonder. The workshop is being duly coordinated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and ISU Extension & Outreach.
Natural resource educators Jacki King and Anne Riordan, along with ISU Extension Family Life Program Specialist Sandra McKinnon will be the workshop’s key speakers and presenters.
Cost for participation in the workshop is $40, which includes lunch and activity materials. The enrollment deadline for the event is Monday, March 17th.
Any area childcare providers interested in participating can enroll for the workshop by CLICKING HERE. If you have additional questions about the “Growing Up Wild” program, call Iowa DNR program planner Carmen Klingenberg at 641-747-2200.
