A McCallsburg man was arrested in Guthrie Center early Sunday morning after punching through a car windshield after an argument.

Officer Rod Pavelka of the Guthrie Center Police Department tells Raccoon Valley Radio he responded to an argument at 300 N 6th Street around 12:45am Sunday morning between 29-year-old year old Mathew Rex Deaton and an acquaintance.

Pavelka says the argument resulted in Deaton punching through the acquaintance’s car windshield, for which he was arrested and charged with 4th-degree Criminal Mischief.  Pavelka says Deaton was briefly held in the Guthrie County Jail before being released on his own recognizance late Sunday morning.

The name of the acquaintance involved has not been released at this time.  Deaton is still awaiting his trial date.
