ADMADM’s boys and girls basketball teams lost to Carlisle last night in their final varsity doubleheader of the season.

To begin the night, the ADM girls fell 62-47 to the Wildcats, ranked No. 13 in Class 4-A.  The Tigers trailed by just six after the third quarter but Carlisle used a big spurt midway through the 4th quarter to emerge with the 15-point win.

ADM had two double-figure scorers in the girls’ contest–those being Brianna Mueller and Madi Bertman who each scored 11.

Game two between the ADM and Carlisle boys was a thriller, but unfortunately for Tiger fans, it ended with the Wildcats on top by a single point, 68-67.

ADM led 45-38 entering the final stanza, but Carlisle quickly closed that gap with a 7-0 run to start the 4th.  The Wildcats then led by five with a minute to go until ADM forward Kyle Ferguson hit two clutch threes late to help send the game to overtime.

In OT, Carlisle star Josh Hagedorn was fouled while driving to the hoop with 1.7 seconds to go on a controversial call.  Hagedorn then hit one of his two free throws to give Carlisle its one point lead, and Jake Sloss’ half-court heave to win it came up short at the buzzer.

Ferguson led ADM with 15 points in the losing effort.
