As we told you last week, local Perry officials made a trip to Des Moines recently to participate in Legislative Day at the capital.
State Senator Jake Chapman says such days are a great chance for the different levels of government to work together, but they need to keep that relationship in mind year round.
“It’s a great opportunity for state officials to work with local officials but beyond just that day, I’m in constant contact with our local officials, our county supervisors…” says Chapman.
Chapman says such partnerships are beneficial for all involved.
“It’s important because we have to be unified in what we’re trying to accomplish for Iowans and so being able to hear what’s important for our local officials and being able to work with that at a state level when appropriate is vitally important to the success of our communities.”
He says these also help both parties stay in check and improve on things that need to be made better while acknowledging accomplishments.
