The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to get the community more involved in the planning of their many events.
Starting with this year’s 4th of July celebration, the chamber is looking to open the planning committee up to the public to allow for more input.
Chamber executive director Bob Wilson says the goal is to revamp the event and make it bigger and better than ever.
“Our 4th of July is a great 4th of July but it’s a little stale, it’s a little old so let’s get some new people involved, let’s plan some various things. As the chamber, we’re not abandoning this in any way but we’re trying to bolster it a little bit, trying to bring it back to what it used to be. If you have a suggestion, you have a civic organization, you have somebody that you think ‘Oh this would be really cool’, this is the time. We’re only a few short months away so we gotta put something together pretty quick” says Wilson.
Anyone who has ideas or is interested in joining the committee is encouraged to contact the chamber by stopping by or calling 465-4601.
