Friday, February 7th
A deputy was advised of an erratic and careless driver entering Greene County on Neola Avenue or Highway 4 from Guthrie County. The deputy was on another call at the time and the vehicle was stopped by a Jefferson Police Officer as it entered Jefferson.
A deputy checked a reported vehicle in the ditch just south of the Raccoon River Bridge on N Avenue. The driver reported that due to the roadway conditions the vehicle slid off the roadway. The driver was not injured and the vehicle sustained no damage. The deputy provided traffic control until the vehicle was removed.
A deputy assisted a stranded motorist that had experienced a flat tire on his vehicle at N Avenue and 170th Street.
Saturday, February 8th
A deputy was advised of a barking dog running at large in Churdan. The dog was not located by the deputy.
A deputy was advised of a vehicle that had slid into the ditch on 220th Street west of Jefferson near the Raccoon River Bridge. The three occupants were not injured and the vehicle was not damaged. The car was removed by the owner.
A deputy checked and placed a 24 hour removal tag on an unoccupied vehicle on 220th Street just west of J Avenue.
A deputy was dispatched to a reported two vehicle accident that had occurred in the 500 block of N 16th Street in Grand Junction. A vehicle that was being driven by Rebecca Lynn Chumbley of Grand Junction was attempting to turn in to the Casey’s General Store parking lot in Grand Junction when a vehicle being driven by Lauri Ann Workman also of Grand Junction pulled from the parking lot and was unable to stop due to slick road conditions, striking the Chumbley car. The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue were dispatched to evaluate both drivers. The deputy reported that both vehicles sustained damage. Lauri Workman was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Upon Entering a Through Highway and Rebecca Chumbley was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Registration. (Expired Plates)
A deputy is investigating a reported burglary and theft of personal property from a residence in the 300 block of 19th Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy assisted a Rippey resident in locating and retrieving her runaway dog.
A deputy was advised of a 4 wheel ATV being ridden on the city streets in Grand Junction. The deputy located the owner of the ATV and advised him of the consequences of ridding on city property.
A deputy was asked to check a reported possible forced entry to a residence in the 1000 block of State Street in Scranton. The owner was at the residence upon the deputy’s arrival and indicated that everything was in order.
Sunday, February 9th
A deputy spoke with a Dana resident after dispatchers at the Greene County Law Enforcement Center received an E-911 call that mapped to that residence. The female at the residence indicated that she and her husband had a verbal altercation and a child placed the call. She indicated that everything was now fine and would call if any further assistance was needed.
Two deputies were dispatched to help resolve a verbal domestic altercation in the 300 block of 13th Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy was dispatched to the 1600 block of T Avenue for the report of an attempted burglary at a farm building site. Entry was not gained but the deputy was able to photograph tire track prints at the scene.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
