The City of Minburn has fixed a water main break that happened on Saturday afternoon and had it repaired by late Saturday night.

The City says that a water main break happened by the elementary building and the suspected cause was weather-related.  Officials state that it was the worst water main break they’ve ever experienced and had to call for outside help to contain the situation.

The City has sent in water samples to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and are waiting to hear back from them to make sure their water isn’t contaminated.

As a precaution, residents are reminded to boil their water first before using it for consumption or in rinsing food products until further notice.

Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.  This story is an update from a report posted at 8pm on Saturday night.
