The annual banquet and fundraiser for the Greene County chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is this weekend.
Treasurer Fred Long says they will have a meal and both a live and silent auction plus there will be raffle prizes during Saturday night’s event at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson.
He notes that last year, they raised about $15,000 and that the local chapter uses two percent of their fundraiser to help put a fall “fun day” for area youth to get interested in outdoor hunting. All other proceeds goes back to the State Board for land acquisition for hunting.
Some of the items for the auctions include eight different firearms, a basketball hoop, various prints and photos, furniture, a wood pellet smoker grill and a Greene Bay Packers signed football. Long points out that there is about 28 items for the live auction and 31 items for the silent auction and raffle prizes.
The evening will start at 5:30pm, with the meal served at 7pm and the live auction to begin at 8pm.
Long adds that members of the local chapter get in for free, non-members are $45, $55 per couple and $10 for youth. The cost will include membership to the National Wild Turkey Federation plus the meal. Members from other chapters must pay $15.
