Stuart International Speedway has released its official schedule for the 2014 racing season.
There will again be a variety of race classes during the upcoming season, which is sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA). Races will feature IMCA modifieds, stock cars, sport mods, hobby stocks and sports compacts, as well as 6-cylinder front wheel drive races.
The first practice of the year will be on Sunday, April 20th, with the season-opening race to follow a week later on April 27th.
After taking three months to prepare the 2014 race slate, Stuart Speedway owner Chuck Vanderheiden says he’s excited about the schedule that has been put together for this summer, especially the memorial races.
“Ron Little was a great racer at Stuart Speedway, he passed away at the track in 1998, and so we’ve done the memorial now since 1999 at the track… so that’s a huge race for us. And then the John Wetzel Memorial–(John) was a racer at Stuart also back in the day and he passed away a few years back. We’ve got some great things coming up and I’m getting pretty excited about the season.”
Overall, Stuart Speedway will have 17 races in 2014, with the final one of the season coming on August 27th.
